2011 Mission Trip
This year, our Mission Trip plans are HUGE! We’ll have an opportunity to combine our Faith with our Service calling. Plus, several days in Chicago promise a wonderful time.

If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. John 13: 14-17
Who wants to wash someone else’s feet, really? Of course, washing someone else’s feet here is a symbol Christ is using to show us one of the ways to show your faithfulness. As Christians, there are things we’d rather not do, and our calling is difficult. If we can take the time to do something for another, and truly serve them, we grow in strength and become more like Jesus.
Whether you have less than $5 in your wallet, or 5 credit cards to choose from, we’re all no greater than one another. We at St. Dominic are blessed with strength, youth, and economic advantages not even hoped for in most of the world. Part of our calling as Christians asks that we share some of our blessings with those who need them.
We are always looking for ways to serve others. Our annual mission trip is a great event to grow in service. But, there are people right in our area who need our help. So, we’ll be serving meals at the Parish Dinners. Plus, we will regularly coordinate neighborhood house-calls to help people with yard work, housework, and other things they may need. Don’t worry, we probably won’t wash any feet!
